Until I have more time to post, I'll try to share little things that are resonating with some of the people in my life. I shared the following quote with my yoga classes a few weeks ago, and I had several students stop after class and ask me to email the quote to them. It's close to my heart as well.
Elizabeth Gilbert wrote this, and I first read it on one of Darren Main's quote-of-the-day emails; you can sign up to get his quote emails at http://darrenmain.com/.
Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.
